Aloha, my name is Dan O’Brien. I’m the owner of Mesh Media LLC, a production company located on Maui that specializes in video and web marketing for the island’s small business community. I offer a variety of media production services, from video tours to commercials, from web videos to broadcast, from Facebook to Twitter. My mission is to provide the Maui business community affordable and creative marketing tools that make a positive impact on brand awareness and sales.
I began Mesh Media LLC in the fall of 2008, but my career in video marketing and production began well before I moved to Maui. Here’s my story…
I moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 1997 ready to break in to the television business. I soon landed a job at KCET, the flagship PBS outlet on the West Coast. After a year, I was promoted to Associate Producer of Marketing Productions. This position helped me focus my skills in two key areas; creating effective marketing videos that showed real results, and producing for live television.
In 2000, I was promoted to Producer of Promotions and Marketing Productions. In this position I explored new areas like video editing, graphic design, field production, and branding. Then in 2003, I was promoted again to become the station’s Senior Producer of Promotions and Marketing Production, where I was able to use all of my skills to help develop and implement creative and effective branding and marketing strategies.
In 2007, it was time for a new adventure. So I moved to Maui with my wife and daughter, eager to explore the island’s many possibilities. I soon landed a job as a Producer at Maui’s Visitor Channel 7, where I’ve continued to bring my many years of marketing production experience to every project I work on, whether it’s for TV or web.
