Testing, Testing, 1-2-3
Aloha,
I’ve just finished testing the WellcomeMat mobile video uploader for iPhone. I shot and uploaded a very crude video of an empty home on Maui. Then at the WellcomeMat website I was able to add chapter labels and share the video. And if it couldn’t get better, it was a snap to embed right here on my own website (see below).
If you’re a WellcomeMat user/realtor with an iPhone, I would highly recommend downloading this app and using it as much as possible. It’s a very quick and easy way to upload and share photos and videos – not to mention it’s free. Just launch the app and snap a shot. Or choose video and record a quick walk through for an interested buyer.
When you’re done, you choose a category and upload it to WellcomeMat right from your iPhone. It also has the capability to upload the video to YouTube and send a Twitter update if you want.
Once the video is ready for viewing on WellcomeMat, you can e-mail the video link to clients, share it on social networking sites, or even embed the video on your own website with a simple “copy and paste”.
Ironically though, iPhone users who try to watch your video won’t be able to at this point in time. And that’s a big drawback. Apple is supposedly going to allow its iPhone to play that type of video in the near future, but who knows. That’s why I strongly suggest always uploading and sharing videos through YouTube as well. That way you can be assured that your videos will be viewable across all platforms.
All in all, for the DIYer who is more interested in gathering a lot of instantly watchable video content for clients and less interested in making a polished video presentation, this is a solid choice for on-the-go video shooting and sharing.
